Take Action

Redlight Children needs your help!  Preventing child slavery and exploitation is the responsibility of all the communities around the world.  One of the number one questions we receive at RedLight Children is how to get involved.  Anyone can help in their own special way.

Here are some of the many ways you can help:

Stay Informed:

  • Register on our website or email us at  newsletter@redlightchildren.org to receive our monthly e-newsletter to keep you up to date with current information about the issue and what we are doing to help fight against it.
  • Check our website frequently for up to the minute news articles about trafficking and related issues around the world.
  • Sign up in our Twitter account, for short messages on upcoming events, news and comments by the RedLight Children team.  Our twitter account is: RedlightCC
  • “Like us” on Facebook, click here.

Spread the Word:

Request a Speaker:

Interested in having a RedLight Children representative speak about modern-day slavery and child sexual exploitation at your event? Fill out and submit the below request form. Please permit up to four weeks for a response and note that due to our small staff size we may not be able to accommodate your request.

Send a Letter to support anti-trafficking initiatives:

Every month we feature a new anti-trafficking campaign or bill from Change.org’s “Child Trafficking” section of their website in our monthly e-newsletter and webpage.  To view all of the current campaigns on what you can do to help support anti-trafficking bills and legislation, click here.

Lend a Hand:

Become an intern or volunteer your time and skills for Redlight Children.  We have internship positions available in the Fall, Spring and Summer semesters and give academic credit to all interns in undergraduate and graduate school programs. Please check out our Volunteer and Internship needs to the right.

Use your Skills:

Every individual has a special skill, and Redlight Children is interested in putting the talents of skilled professionals to good use.  You could help to design a shirt or bag for the campaign.  Artists could create art pieces for fundraising auctions.  If you’re a performer, lend us your talents for a night.  If interested, please email admin@redlightchildren.org.

Utilize your Contacts:

Your social network might prove invaluable to our mission.  If you know influential people who can lend a hand, help us get in touch with them.  They could be politicians, senior management of your company (or other companies), celebrities who can be spoke persons or press contacts to help us raise awareness.

Make a Donation- Redlight Children requires funds in order to achieve its goals.  No donation is too small, and every amount helps!

To send a check in the mail, please make check payable to “RedLight Children” and mail to the following address:

Exigen c/o RLC
75 Rockefeller Plaza, 17th floor
New York, NY 10019

Matching Gifts:

Many companies have matching gift programs doubling your individual, tax-deductible donations.  Check with you company’s human resources or payroll department to see whether or not it offers a matching gift program and ask for the donation guidelines and a list charities your company does offer a matching gift program.  We are currently registered with Microsoft’s Matching Gift Program as well as the GE Foundation.  If you work for a company where we are not already registered, please nominate us to see if we can be added.  For further information on how to complete the corporate matching process, please contact admin@redlightchildren.org.

Make an In-Kind Donation:

As a nonprofit, we are always looking for ways to reduce our overhead and operations costs.  Help us by donating tangibles such as electronic equipment and/or supplies.  Additionally, donate tangibles that could be auctioned off to raise funds such as gift certificates, wine, gym memberships, spa vouchers, etc.  For more information on how to make an in-kind donation, please email us at: admin@redlightchildren.org.

Provide a Venue:

We are hold multiple events throughout the year.  If you work for, own, or know somebody who is willing to donate the venue for free or at a reduced nonprofit rate, we are interested!  Donate a venue for an awareness, fundraising and/or screening event.  Potential venues include concert halls, auditoriums, lounges, and clubs.

Purchase Merchandise:

RedLight Children introduces two new partnerships with Nomi Network’s Buy Her Bag Not Her Body, a non-profit leveraging the marketplace to eradicate sexual slavery and Made By Survivors, a non-profit providing an economic alternative to slavery and exploitation for women and youth at high risk for being trafficked.   Handicraft purchases provide much-needed revenue to the anti-trafficking agencies where survivors and high risk girls live and work. The income generated through these programs goes to pay the artisans, and also helps pay for long-term care, education, medical and psychological services, legal aid, public awareness programs, trafficking prevention, and more.

We will feature select merchandise from our partners on our Store page as well as in our bi-monthly newsletters in which you can receive 10-50% off featured items and  5-10% of the proceeds will be donated back to RedLight Children.

Everyone has the ability to create change in the world we live in. Please join our efforts to “Expose, Fight and End” Child Exploitation and Slavery.
