Cambodian Association of Greater Philadelphia’s youth program Teens Organizing Proactivity (TOP) will be launching the “Stop the Pain Campaign: End Child Sex Slavery * Human Trafficking” in Philadelphia. The launch event will be on Saturday, FEB 26th 5:00pm – 8:00pm in center city Philadelphia where the venue will be at Asian Arts Initiative (1219 Vine Street, Philadelphia, PA 19107). Schedule of events include a panel discussion about the issue of Child Sex Slavery and Trafficking, dance performance and the screening of Holly.
Stop the Pain Campaign’s purpose is to raise awareness surrounding the issue of child sex slavery and human trafficking. We prepare presentations and workshops about the issue and also sell t-shirts and wristbands where 100% of the profits will be donated to the Somaly Mam Foundation. Teens Organizing Proactivity is a youth program offered by the Cambodian Association of Greater Philadelphia. The youth in the TOP program lives in the Olney section of Philadelphia which is the most dangerous section of the city. Majority are the children of refugees and immigrants from Southeast Asia during the Cambodian Genocide and the Vietnam War. The philosophy behind TOP is the belief that our inner city youth’s personal development can help them excel socially, educationally, and professionally in various environments. View Photos Here.
