Nonprofit Partners & Nongovernmental Organizations:

United Nations Office of Drugs and Crime was established in 1997 and since then, has operated in all regions of the world to fight against illicit drugs, crime and terrorism. Their  three pillars of the UNODC work program include 1) Field-based technical cooperation 2) Research and analytical work and 3) Normative work to assist the US in the ratification and implementation of treaties, development of US legislation on drugs, crime and terrorism, and the provision of substantive services to treaty-based and governing bodies.

UNICEF is a worldwide advocate for human rights, specifically targeting the proper nurturing and caring for children. They combat poverty, violence, disease and discrimination that could stand in the way of a child’s understanding of humanity. Currently, they are in 190 countries and are part of the Global Movement for Children.

The United Nations was founded in 1945 after World War II by 51 countries committed to maintain international peace and security – specifically with an emphasis on better living standards and human rights. Known for peacekeeping, conflict prevention and humanitarian assistance, the UN affects many lives in the world to make it a better place for now and for many generations to come.

UN.GIFT was launched in 2007 by the International Labour Organization to specifically tackle the fight human trafficking. The Global Initiative is based on a simple principle: human trafficking is a crime of such magnitude and atrocity that it cannot be dealt with successfully by any government alone. This global problem requires a global, multi-stakeholder strategy that builds on national efforts throughout the world.

USAID is an independent federal government agency that receives overall foreign policy guidance from the Secretary of State. Its purpose is to extend a helping hand to those overseas struggling to make a better life, recover from a disaster or striving to live in a free and democratic country. It is this caring that stands as a hallmark of the United States around the world — and shows the world our true character as a nation.

Amnesty International is a global movement of over 3 million supports who campaign tirelessly to end the abuses of human rights. Their vision is for every person to enjoy the rights set in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights as well as other international human rights standards.

The Cécilia Attias Foundation for Women actualizes concrete improvement in the lives of women around the world by providing a strategic, financial, and media platform for established nongovernmental organizations, associations, and charities who champion the cause of women’s equality and well being. The CAFW also guarantees transparency through a certification process that ensures that each of the donations received goes exactly where the organization needs it most.

Restore NYC is a 501c3 non-profit organization founded in 2004 to provide services for internationally sex trafficked women in New York City. Restore aims to provide safe housing and specialized legal, medical and employment services, as well as optional spiritual activities.

My Sister’s Place For more than 32 years, My Sisters’ Place (MSP) has worked to end violence in intimate relationships and combat the effects of domestic violence and human trafficking on survivors and children throughout Westchester County. MSP brings a holistic approach to addressing the many and varied needs of domestic violence survivors and the root causes of family violence.

Nomi Network, a non-profit organization bridging the private, public and non-profit sectors through enterprise and education to end human trafficking. The Nomi Network primarily focuses on empowering women at risk for sex trafficking by increasing their financial independence. Founded by Diana Mao and Alissa A. Moore, this organization offers hope to trafficked survivors, and works to provide a safe future for generations to come.

ECPAT-USA is a network of organizations and individuals working together to eliminate the commercial sexual exploitation of children around the world. It seeks to encourage the world community to ensure that children everywhere enjoy their fundamental rights free from all forms of commercial sexual exploitation.

The Emancipation Network/Made By Survivors is an international organization dedicated to fighting human trafficking and modern day slavery. Through economic empowerment, education, and reintegration projects, the Emancipation network helps survivors of slavery to rebuild their lives. Founded by Sarah Symons and John Berger in 2005, this organization combines public outreach and education programs about human trafficking with income-generating programs for survivors and high risk girls As of today, the Emancipation Network has over 20 partners in 12 countries, and is still growing.

The Blind Project is a organization that promotes the holistic restoration of those who have been exploited by the commercial sex trade in South East Asia, by focusing on two key sets of initiatives: 1) Biographe is a sustainable style brand that teaches victims graphic and fashion design as well as screen-printing in a positive work environment while earning a living wage. The proceeds from Biographe are reinvested back into their community to support their transition from victim to citizen. 2) Restorative Programs, the Blind Projects restorative initiatives focus on the physical and emotional transformation of  women exploited by the commercial sex trade in South East Asia by offering restorative programs that include health care services, beautification programs as well as art and drama therapy that invest in the overall well-being of survivors.

DC Stop Modern Slavery is a community based organization dedicated to putting an end to human trafficking through grassroots action. DC Stop Modern Slavery seeks to end slavery forever by harnessing the power of individual communities to 1) create a forum for education, engagement, and action; 2) foster grassroots movements for local change within individual communities and around the world; and 3) complement existing efforts of NGO’s, government, private sector, and the community.

Vital Voices Global Partnership, an international, non-profit organization that works with women leaders in the areas of economic empowerment, women’s political participation, and human rights.  Vital Voices also has a Global Advisory Council, made up of women leaders from every region of the world, who advise Vital Voices about the most pressing issues facing women in their countries and work with Vital Voices to address them.

National Association of Women Judges promotes the judicial role of protecting the rights of individuals under the rule of law through strong, committed, diverse judicial leadership, fairness and equality in the courts, and equal access to justice.

Hunt Alternatives Fund, since its founding in 1981, the Hunt Alternatives Fund has been advancing innovative and inclusive approaches to social change at the local, national, and global levels. Over the years, the Fund has contributed nearly $90 million to social change through grant making and operating programs.

The New York Asian Women’s Center helps women and their children overcome domestic violence and other forms of abuse by empowering them to govern their own lives.  The Center provides a safe haven through multi-lingual support programs and shelter services.  In addition, the Center works to raise public awareness about violence against women, advocates for the rights of survivors, and acts as an agent of social change.

New York State Coalition Against Sexual Assault provides technical assistance, resource development and policy advocacy for the more than 100 Rape Crisis programs, sister agencies and collaborators statewide that work with survivors of sexual violence and their families.

Asia Society and Museum, located on Park Avenue and 70th Street in New York City, is the leading global and pan-Asian organization working to strengthen relationships and promote understanding among the people, leaders, and institutions of the United States and Asia.

The Movement for Quality Government was established to promote good government for the people of Israel.  The organization is dedicated to the proposition that democracy must be actively nurtured, never more so than in a young country like Israel. Over the years, the MQG has established itself as the nation’s preeminent citizen watchdog organization and peerless advocate for public accountability and the rule of law.
